ANDREW M. BARKER was admitted to the bar in Indiana in 1989. Born in Indianapolis, Mr. Barker graduated from Indiana University, Bloomington, IN with a B.S. in Finance and his law degree from Indiana University – Indianapolis. Mr. Barker is one among the few attorneys in Hamilton County certified through training and trial experience to be appointed to death penalty cases. He has extensive experience in all aspects of litigation, including well over 130 jury trials in criminal defense matters ranging from operating while intoxicated cases to murder. Mr. Barker has also tried personal injury cases to jury. Mr. Barker is still a public defender in the court where all sex crimes/child molest cases were exclusively filed for many years, he estimates he has tried over 50 sex crimes cases (child molesting) to jury and has handled hundreds more. Regarding his family law practice, Mr. Barker has tried many child custody cases and high asset divorces.  He has been previously identified as a Super Lawyer* in the area of divorce.  Mr. Barker concentrates his practice in the areas of criminal defense, OWI, sex crimes (child molest) defenses, divorce, family law, personal injury, and contract litigation and drafting.  He also handles various areas of civil litigation, business law formation and disputes.
